A showcase for the unpublished works of authors, providing publishers with a fast and easy to use library of new material. Books4publishing is the perfect showcase for new authors. A place where, as yet, un-published books are exhibited and promoted to publishers. This essential site brings together authors and publishers in a unique way and provides authors with an extremely effective way of reaching the vast number of publishers seeking new material. http://Books4publishing.com YBK Publishers Your book manuscript will be copyedited, designed, typeset, proofread, printed, bound, and published based on the options you choose. These tasks will be managed by the same company that has produced books for traditional publishers since 1975. YBK Publishers is operated by the management and staff of Publishing Synthesis, Ltd., a book publishing packager whose website can be seen at www.pubsyn.com. The same expertise brought to the books shown there will be brought to yours. The only difference is that you, rather than a traditional publisher, will be our client. Let's define such terms as copyediting, design, typesetting, and others. Copyediting If you choose the copyediting option our copyeditors will read every word in your manuscript. They will suggest changes in usage, punctuation, capitalization, and the like, that will make your text grammatically and typographically correct. Proper copyediting will not change the meaning or intent of your words. Your manuscript will be returned to you at this stage for review--in case we suggest changes that you do not agree with. This is exactly the procedure followed by traditional publishers. Design Each manuscript we publish must be converted from the simplistic style of your word-processed manuscript to the typesetting that becomes the final appearance of the pages of your book. Page styles vary according to the need of the book as determined by (among other things) market expectation for given kinds of books--romances look subtly different from thrillers; fiction, in general, looks different from nonfiction. Sometimes a book is given wide margins and largish type in order to have it achieve a greater page length while another may need smaller type size and margins in order to contain its pages within an economical range--for instance, to permit a lesser selling price than its competition. We will not only give your book professional design, but we will consider its resultant length in order to optimize its marketability. If you are a Production Plan author (described later), we will choose for you, among our many standard designs, the one that will optimize your book's marketability. The book's cover, too, must be designed. The traditional publisher's marketing department spends a great deal of time reviewing, selecting and discussing what should appear on the cover of a book. Almost invariably, an author's suggestion is overruled. We don't agree that the publisher knows the market better than the author. Publishers don't write the books that capture the attention of the reader so how can it know better what best appeals to that reader? If you wish, YBK Publishers will happily accept and reproduce to the best of its ability exactly the cover you have in mind. We will add our professional knowledge about what can or cannot be done within the parameters of the technology and be sure that this is carried forth into the final product. And, if there are negative aspects to your design suggestions that we recognize as professionals we will make you aware of them. In case you don't have a specific image in mind, the same staff mentioned earlier stand ready to design your cover, or you may choose among standard templates available elsewhere on this website. Typesetting Following either a custom design or a chosen template, we will convert your word-processed manuscript into typeset files. (Out-of-print authors may opt to retypeset their books if, for example, they were previously in the smaller, mass market format or if revision to the previous work is necessary, but we will generally scan the previously published work. You will need to provide two copies of your book which will not be returned to you.) During the typesetting process you will receive a set of proofs on which you will mark any corrections or changes that you wish to make. (These used to be called galley proofs at the time when typesetting was done in one long string of lines prior to being broken into individual pages. You will see the actual pages.) Unless they are retypeset, books returning to print cannot be corrected and proofs will not be shown. Unlike wordprocessor files, the typesetting files we create will be usable by both printing companies and print-on-demand technology; they will contain the data that defines every element's placement on the printed book page. The very same files we create to produce books one at a time are accepted, without modification, by the nation's largest printing companies for use on their presses. If you are one of our Custom Plan typesetting authors, your book, when it achieves market recognition, will require no modification to be instantly usable on conventional web-printing equipment. Custom Plan typesetting authors receive a computer disk from us containing a copy of these files, enabling their immediate use in moving to a large-quantity traditional publisher. (We hope you'll choose to stay with us, but the option is yours. More about that later.) Proofreading Because the typesetting process is a custom procedure that can introduce error we recommend that all books be carefully proofread. Almost every book produced by Publishing Synthesis, YBK's founders, is proofread by an independent professional as well as by its author. Because you have chosen to be published by YBK, we expect that you are interested in achieving maximum professionalism for your book; to that end we highly recommend that this extra step be taken. Any errors found by the proofreader are merged with the corrections or changes you make in your proofset and are corrected prior to final typesetting. Indexing If yours is a work of nonfiction you may wish it to have an index. Indexing is almost an art form requiring a particular kind of eye and turn of mind. It's not impossible for a diligent author to make a passable index--and we have guidelines to recommend if you choose to attempt it--but we suggest that you have your index prepared by a professional indexer--one who comes recommended to you or one of ours. When an index is to be prepared we will provide the indexer with a set of the final proof pages of your book--after all changes are made that can cause lines to move to another page. http://Yourbookpublisher.com Pre-Press Music Australia - Print music typesetting and publishing Whether you are a composer or a songwriter or a singer or an instrumentalist or a conductor or a music educator or a music publisher or self-publisher, Pre-Press Music Australia will turn your manuscripts into beautiful, clear and accurate scores of the same professional quality and exacting standards that you would expect from the world's leading print music publishers, and at a very reasonable price.
